When Announce Calls is activated on your iPhone , Siri speaks the name of the person calling if the caller is listed in your Contacts app. If the number is not in your contacts, Siri reads the phone number aloud or says "unknown caller. Open the Settings app. Scroll down and select Phone. Select Announce Calls. Select Always to activate the feature. If you select Headphones Only , Siri only announces the caller when you use headphones.

Close the Settings app. Your change is saved. Siri does not announce the caller's name or number when your iPhone is set on Do Not Disturb or vibrate. The iPhone rings while you have the Announce Calls feature enabled, but the ring sound is muffled while Siri announces the caller or number.

Find " Announce Calls ". Press Settings. Press Phone. Press Announce Calls. Turn on call announcement. Press Always to turn on the function when silent mode is turned off. Press Headphones Only to turn on the function when your phone is connected to a headset. For apps where you can send a reply, like Messages, Siri repeats what you said, then asks for confirmation before sending your reply.

To send replies without waiting for confirmation, turn on Reply Without Confirmation. Have Siri announce calls With Announce Calls, Siri identifies incoming FaceTime calls, which you can accept or decline using your voice.
